Wearing: H&M and color!

Sporting my new H&M gear that I bought over Memorial weekend. No special sales,  I was just down there for my baby sister’s graduation and since we don’t have an H&M in South Carolina I made it a point to stop in.  I picked up the three items pictured (the top, ring and necklace) along with a black and a white camisole – which is a staple item I love from H&M. (I mentioned that in my previous post.)

The top was purchased in an effort to inject some color in my wardrobe! I tend to  gravitate toward very basic, neutral colored pieces, but for the summer, I wanted to up the color. I think I succeeded with this top!

• Charlotte Russe rhinestone hoops in gold – I LOVE these. Wish I had bought another pair! They have the smallest rhinestones which make a skinny hoop that I’m in LOVE with.

Today’s lunch. Yummy. They have THE best hashbrown casserole and green beans.

I had to hold myself back from buying one of each.

I tried this dress on while I was in the store, but the smaller size was too short and the next size up was too big on top. Complete letdown since I loved the colors so much.

Wearing: Kmart Attention Tank

Do you like the “welcome” written in chalk? That’s from my daughter. 🙂

I won this tank top via Twitter from @KmartFashion! I loved it so much from seeing it in the giveaway that I was going to run out and buy it if I didn’t win. But lucky me, I won! Thank you @KmartFashion! At the time, it was $12.74 online but I can’t find it there anymore.  I was told they are also available in-store. We still have a few Kmart stores in our area, but unfortunately they’re really out my way! I think I’ll have to make a trip out there soon to see their other items!

I love the bird print on it as well as the color I chose (also comes in a neon yellow and black). I could use more purple and just color in general in my closet!

I love this top because of  the ruffle top and its loose fit! Loose tops are perfect for hot summer weather and there are so many different ways to wear them!

1. Wear it tucked in to a skirt for a more office appropriate look.
2. Leave it untucked and add a belt and/or a cardigan to add shape.

I dressed it up a bit for work but I know it will also pair well with jeans or shorts for a more casual look.

Details, details:

This tank top in Dusty Rose was my attempt to add some color to my wardrobe! Something brighter than the usual taupe, olive, gray, brown and black that I’m consistently drawn to. But get this, I also just bought a new dress in a similar color. Do you ever notice that once you buy one item, similar items or colors seem to follow? Kind of like when you’re thinking about buying a new car, every car that passes you happens to be the car you’re wanting to buy? Hmmm.

A note about the shoes. These actually have a skinny and short wedge heel that I find a little hard to walk in. I was pretty sure I was going to sprain my ankles yesterday. These are far more dangerous than my four inch heels!

And that shrub that looks like it’s dying, we just replanted it over the weekend. My husband usually takes care of all the landscaping/outdoors ‘stuff’ but I hardly see him anymore so I thought I’d head out there with him so we could spend some together. Fun, right? 😀 I’m worried that the shrubs we replanted are going to die – because every plant I touch dies – but he assures me they’ll be ok. We’ll see. I’m a bit nervous at this point.

Wearing: Target Mossimo Dress in Seaweed

I. LOVE. THIS. DRESS.

It is so comfortable and fits perfectly. Sleeveless dresses and tops can be tricky because most of the time the arm holes are too big. The wrap style of the top is tricky too as it can be too low – or pop open unexpectedly. Not the case with this dress. Everything is perfect. AND it’s so comfortable. The only thing you should know about this dress is that it wrinkles easily so you’ll have to iron it.  But I iron everything as it is, so it doesn’t bother me.

I need to figure out a new place so I’m not squiting in all my pictures. Sorry. But it’s hard when you’re taking it after work with two kids running around. Aigh. My life. 🙂

I Went Shopping at Target!

As posted in my previous blog entry, there are some great Target apparel coupons available online. I went to my local target to get a couple things that were on my wishlist.The first dress is the Mossimo Draped Elasticdress which is $24.99 regular price. I could only find it in a small which fit a bit larger at the chest than the XS that I previously bought in the seawood color did. It’s also longer, so I may have to get it hemmed up a tad.

The next dress is the Mossimo Sateen Dress at $27.99 regular price. I had been eying the black online but there was also a khaki color in-store which I loved. So I snatched them both up to try on.

It fit like a glove.

But wait….what’s this????

Wow. We want to hide the pooch, not enhance and create it! The dress has pleats from the waistline up to the chest and again from the waistline down. The latter causes the fabric to bunch up no matter how you adjust it which causes the pooch. It looked TERRIBLE! What a disappointment since I really loved how this dress fit otherwise!

Here it is in khaki – I loved this color too! Target’s site actually says the color is beige, but I think khaki is a better description of the color.

I picked up the Mossimo Drapey Racerback tank because I loved the coral color and the flowiness of the chiffon overlay. The color was much brighter in person than in my picture below and the website. Regular price: $17.99

But I didn’t like the seam down the front middle of the top – see the puckering along the seam?

The black and white striped skirt above was an Xhileration mini skirt for $12.99. Bodycon style. Wish I could rock this ladies, but I can’t. It looks great in the front, but not so much in the back since I’m lacking junk in tha trunk. 😉 It was really cute but late night outs are pretty few and far between these days. If you’re looking for something like this, I highly recommend!

The only item I went home with was the first dress – the Mossimo Drape Dress. I’m hoping to find it in an XS in one of the other stores and exchange it but if not, I’ll keep it. It will still be wearable with some slight alterations.

My Hermes Look For Less

The Hermes “Collier de Chien” is on RueLaLa today for the hefty price tag of $1,199. It’s already sold out, in case you were interested. 😉

I bought a great dupe of it from Target a couple months ago. i can’t remember if it was $14.99 or $16.99, either way. What a saving from the price of the Hermes, right? I love my leather cuff bracelet. This was the perfect addition to my growing tough chick jewelry.

Target also has some other leather and metal bracelets that I’m keeping my eye on in hopes the price will drop. Go check ’em out! You’ll find them at the jewelry counter at Target – not the shelf.
