Frugal Shopping: Talbots 50% off sale items

Talbots sale items are 50% off online and in-store! (Plus an additional 5% off if you use a Talbots card.) I visited the store during my lunch hour, and here’s what I tried on. I loved EVERY piece! Online, prices are as marked.

Shoes: gorgeous pumps and flats in bold colors and prints. Red, turquoise and animal prints were abundant. See all sale styles here.

I’m all about the heels so I tried these two on.

Talbots Gabbi Colorblocked Suede Chunky Heel Pump $62.49: I liked these when I saw them online, but when I tried them on in-store, I loved them. I’m a sucker for a chunky heel as much as a stilletto. These are really comfortable too!

Talbots Skyla Almond Toe Pumps in Leopard $72.49: I was curious about these when I saw them online so I had my eye out for them when I visited the store,but I really didn’t love them. They have a hidden platform which I think makes them look big and clunky. I’d prefer a sleeker look. I also felt like the leopard print was too large. This shoe is also available in a red or teal suede, taupe and a smaller black leopard print.

Talbots Kate Fit Velveteen Jacket $34.99: I tried this on in the Raven (a hunter green color) but I am loving Vixen (a rust color). The petite size was perfect on me! It doesn’t look so great in the pictures above, but in person is really a great looking jacket. (You can see it on me below.)

Talbots Kate Fit Flannel Tuxedo Jacket $75.99:LOVED the fit of this jacket. Every bit of it fit me perfectly. I already have a thrifted pink blazer but this one is definitely a need in my closet. I’ll have my eye on it in hopes that the price will go down. The only con is that it’s wool so I would only be able to wear it in the fall/winter. I’d love a more versatile fabric so I could wear it year round.

Talbots Georgette Pleated Skirt $36.99: Gorgeous, gorgeous “Vixen” color. This is 100% silk shell with a polyester lining. See it on me along with the Kate Fit Velveteen Blazer and the Gabbi color blocked heels. Quite the outfit I put together in the fitting room, eh?

Silk Georgette Ruched-Pleat Dress $46.99: I love dresses, especially flowy, twirly, feminine dresses. This color is beautiful in person. I would buy it if I knew I’d get some wear out of it!

Talbots Washed Silk Full Skirt $29.49: I didn’t see this in store, but it is on sale online, unfortunately, not in my size. I’ve had my eye on this gorgeous green skirt for some time now. I wish I knew how it’d fit on me!

There you have it! The prices are great but nothing I NEED to have right now. I loved everything I tried on except for the leopard pumps. I’ll be stalking these items (especially the pleated skirt and pink blazer) in hopes of some lower price points. FYI, the prices online are consistent with what I saw in store too. Pretty rare for a retailer.
